Oregon’s 38th Governor has had a distinguished history of active involvement with and support of OWLS since its founding. In 1990 she served as secretary of Queen’s Bench, the local Portland chapter of Oregon Women Lawyers. She received the OWLS Justice Betty Roberts Award in 2011 for her outstanding contributions to promoting women in the legal profession and the community. She has been a featured speaker or panelist at many OWLS events.
Only the second woman to serve as governor of Oregon, Kate is the first woman lawyer to hold that office.
