Welcome to the Oregon Women Lawyers’ (OWLS) website (OWLS website). OWLS has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy for OWLS members and other website users. The following paragraphs disclose our information gathering and dissemination practices. The privacy statement may change at any time; any changes will be posted on this page. Email Privacy and Member Contact Information
From time to time OWLS sends broadcast emails to its members. If you do not wish to receive announcements from the Listserve you can opt out at the time.
Server log information
When you visit the OWLS Website, you are identifiable as a unique number, called an IP address. Your IP address is automatically collected in server logs. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our server and to analyze server traffic to learn which pages on the OWLS Website receive more or fewer visitors. This information is anonymous and cannot be traced back to a specific individual. The server log also can tell us which browser you are using and the name of the Website that referred you to our site.
Session Cookies
When you visit the OWLS website, session cookies are maintained in your computer’s temporary memory. These disappear when your session is over and you close your browser. Session cookies allow users to be recognized within the OWLS website so user data and selections are remembered within the OWLS website.
User-supplied personally identifiable information
Current and future services on the OWLS website may require that you give us your name, email address, billing and delivery information, credit card or other financial account information, or other personal information. By providing this information, you can and will be able to transact business via the Internet which in the past required telephone or mail contact with OWLS. Financial and billing information is collected through a third party. OWLS does not have access to or keep records of credit card numbers.

The OWLS website contains links to other external website Website(“Linked Sites”) that we believe may be useful to OWLS members and the public. OWLS is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these Linked Sites. Please see the OWLS website Terms of Use for more information.
Security
The OWLS website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Only authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Accordingly, and despite our efforts, OWLS cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our online products or services. The OWLS website is comprised of various web pages operated by OWLS, including, without limitation, www.oregonwomenlawyers.org, OWLS profiles on social media sites and any other digital services or properties operated or used by OWLS from time to time (collectively referred to as the “OWLS website”). By accessing or using the OWLS website you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms of Use”). Please read these Terms of Use carefully as well as the OWLS Privacy Policy. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use

By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using a Communication Service, you will not:

• Conduct or forward surveys or contests unless such Communication Services specifically allows such messages.
• Forward pyramid schemes or chain letters.
• Download any file posted by another user of a Communication Service that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
• Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
• Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communication Services.
• Violate any code of conduct or other guidelines which may be applicable for any particular Communication Service.
• Harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including e-mail addresses, without their consent.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
OWLS has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, OWLS reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. OWLS reserves the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.
OWLS reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in OWLS’ sole discretion.
Always use caution when giving out any personally identifying information about yourself or your children in any Communication Service. OWLS does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Communication Service and, therefore, OWLS specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Service. Managers and hosts are not authorized OWLS spokespersons, and their views do not necessarily reflect those of OWLS.
Materials uploaded to a Communication Service may be subject to posted limitations on usage, reproduction and/or dissemination. You are responsible for adhering to such limitations if you download the materials.

Termination of Access to OWLS Website OWLS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate your access to the OWLS website and the related services or any portion thereof at any time, without notice.
General Terms
To the maximum extent permitted by law, this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, U.S.A. and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Multnomah County, Oregon, U.S.A. in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of the OWLS Website. Use of the OWLS Website is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, including without limitation this paragraph. You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and OWLS as a result of this agreement or use of the OWLS Website.
OWLS’ performance of this agreement is subject to existing laws and legal process, and nothing contained in this agreement is in derogation of OWLS’ right to comply with governmental, court and law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use of the OWLS Website or information provided to or gathered by OWLS with respect to such use. If any part of this agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitations set forth above, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the agreement shall continue in effect.
Unless otherwise specified herein, this agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the user and OWLS with respect to the OWLS Website and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written, between the user and OWLS with respect to the OWLS Website. A printed version of this agreement and of any notice given in electronic form shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based upon or relating to this agreement to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form. It is the express wish to the parties that this agreement and all related documents be drawn up in English.
