The Oregon Hispanic Bar Association will present the 2016 Paul J. De Muniz Professionalism Award to Kevin Diaz on Friday, February 19 at the Benson Hotel in Portland. As Compassion & Choices National Directory of Legal Advocacy, his work focuses on improving health care and expanding choice at the end of life. Born in Peru and raised in Oregon, he earned degrees at the University of Oregon and the University of Washington School of Law. Previously, he served as the Legal Director for the ACLU of Oregon and as an advocate for immigrants, with a particular focus on issues affecting migrant and seasonal farm workers. He is a past president of the Oregon Hispanic Bar Association. The guest speaker will be General Counsel David Lopez of the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
