April 30, 2015 – Portland, Ore. Heather Decker is the new Director of Attorney Professional Development and Recruiting at Tonkon Torp LLP. With a focus on supporting attorney professional development and career satisfaction, she is responsible for creating education and training opportunities, mentoring and helping attorneys transition, establish and build their practices. She oversees the firm’s attorney recruiting and hiring process for graduating law students and experienced attorneys making lateral moves.
Decker is a 1996 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law and has practiced civil litigation with various large and small law offices in the Portland area. She has been active in the Oregon State Bar, Multnomah Bar Association, Oregon Law School Alumni Association and Oregon Women Lawyers.
Among her volunteer activities on behalf of the legal community, she has planned and delivered Continuing Legal Education programs, designed and facilitated an attorney wellness and stress management program for the Oregon Attorney Assistance Program, and provided mentoring and mentoring leadership for the Oregon State Bar, Portland State University and the law schools of the University of Oregon and Lewis & Clark.
