April 17, 2015, Portland, Ore. – Haley Morrison has joined Tonkon Torp’s Labor & Employment practice group. She provides counsel to employers on a wide variety of matters, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wage-and-hour issues, in both single plaintiff and class action contexts.
Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Morrison was an associate in the San Diego office of multi-national law firm Paul Hastings LLP. While there, she received multiple professional recognitions, including a Southern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers (2015) and “Best of the Bar” by the San Diego Business Journal (2014, 2015).
Morrison is a graduate of The Colorado College and earned her J.D. at University of San Diego School of Law. She served as an intern in the Attorney General’s Office and an extern for the Honorable Nita L. Stormes in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Before attending law school, Morrison worked for the Oregon Sports Authority, where she was responsible for marketing and organizing major sporting events such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Dew Tour and the U.S. Women’s Soccer Fan Celebration Tour.
A successful soccer player herself, Morrison was an All-City and All-State selection multiple times while attending Lincoln High School in Portland. She was on the NCAA Division I soccer team at The Colorado College and played semi-professionally for several seasons before attending law school. An overall sports enthusiast, Morrison volunteers in programs focused on building self-esteem in young women and girls.
“We are delighted to welcome Haley back to Portland and into our Labor & Employment practice,” said Michael Morgan, Managing Partner. “She brings a breadth of experience and a commitment to excellence that will serve our firm and our clients well.”
