Oregon Women Lawyers President Kathleen Rastetter today announced the 2014 recipients of the Justice Betty Roberts and Judge Mercedes Deiz Awards. The recipient of the Justice Betty Roberts award is Bankruptcy Court Judge Elizabeth Perris. The Judge Mercedes Deiz Award will be presented to Lissa Kaufman, Portland State University’s Director of Student Legal Services.
The awards, which honor Justice Betty Roberts, Oregon’s first female appellate judge, and Judge Mercedes Deiz, Oregon’s first female judge of color, are presented each year to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to promoting women and minorities in the legal profession and the community.
The 22nd annual award recipients will be honored at a dinner at The Nines Hotel in Portland on Friday, March 14.
