Topic: The Antidote to Perfectionism
Calling all perfectionists and recovering perfectionists! Join us for the sequel to our April OWLS Online program, “Healthy Striving vs. Perfectionism.” This time we will learn and reflect on ways to identify and manage perfectionist tendencies as “The Antidote to Perfectionism.” We will explore the costs of and alternatives to perfectionism, and consider when to let our perfectionist flag fly, set and adjust expectations, and discern when “good enough” is the best approach. We hope to see you online October 10 at 12 pm with discussion facilitator and productivity coach Heather Decker, JD.
Heather Decker is a coach and retreat facilitator based in Portland, Oregon. Before coaching, she was a practicing litigation attorney for 18 years. She transitioned to law firm management as the Director of Professional Development and Recruiting for an 85 lawyer regional business law firm. Heather believes that lawyers and law firms function best when we understand ourselves, develop strong relationships with each other and when we each contribute to the business side of law practice. As a Productivity Coach Heather helps lawyers, accountants and other service professionals learn to work more efficiently, manage others effectively, improve their profitability and quality of life. Heather facilitates retreats for law firms and bar organizations with the goal of supporting participants in having authentic, equitable and meaningful conversations about important issues. As an active Bar leader Heather supports local and state-wide bar organizations in honing their vision, structure and teamwork to achieve their goals.
