The OWLS Membership Committee is hosting a zoom workshop to explore interest in a virtual chapter of OWLS. This is in response to the 2020 member survey. Two-thirds of survey respondents expressed interest in a virtual chapter option for networking due to pandemic concerns and/or geographic challenges with the meeting location of the regional chapters, and nine out of ten survey respondents indicated that unstructured networking programs are important member benefits.
Please join us on Thursday, September 23, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. to provide input about how often the virtual chapter should meet, days and times when virtual meetings would be convenient, and to discuss the virtual meeting format to facilitate networking and mentoring among OWLS members.
There are also opportunities for OWLS members to volunteer for leadership positions in the virtual chapter to build the chapter and gain leadership experience. If there is sufficient interest, then we will also be accepting proposals for the chapter name and volunteers to take ownership of the chapter organization with support from the OWLS office and the OWLS Membership Committee.
