Congratulations to the Rothauge & Kaner Women’s Trial Academy©, sponsored by OWLS, for its recognition by the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations as an Outstanding Member Program. The award will be presented in Chicago on July 31. The Outstanding Member Program Award is given to innovative training programs of member women’s bar associations, sections and committees. Programs receiving the award serve as models for replication and adaptation by other bar groups around the country.
The Academy is designed for young women litigators with three to six years of experience. During the two-day intensive program, participants will hone their trial skills in a small group setting where each participant will receive individualized attention. The program will address some of the unique challenges women face in the court room and train them to turn perceived disadvantages into strength and winning strategies.
The Academy will be held Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 at the Rogue Regency Inn & Suites in Medford. The curriculum will be enhanced by “guest coaches” such as judges and trial lawyers, who will offer their expertise.
The trial skills will be developed and honed by hands-on training using facts from an actual case. Participants will conduct mock openings, examinations and closings along with other key parts of the trial. Participants will come away with stronger trial skills and increased confidence in the court room.
Registration for the Trial Academy has now closed.
