OWLS, Markowitz Herbold PC, and Marger, Johnson & McCollom are proud to sponsor 2015’s Rainmaking & Career Development Mentoring Circle. This is a substantive program designed to help all lawyers seeking to improve their rainmaking skills!
DESCRIPTION
We are very pleased to welcome our volunteer mentors for this year’s Rainmaking & Career Development Mentoring Circle: They include Julie Vacura of Larkins Vacura, Hala Gores of Hala Gores PC, and Nena Cook of Ater Wynne.
We will begin with a kick-off lunch meeting on Tuesday, April 21st at Marger, Johnson, & McCollom from 12:00 – 1:30 pm. The kick-off session will be a large group format that includes all mentors and mentees. At the kick-off meeting, mentors and mentees will have a chance to meet each other and the format and topics of the remaining sessions will be discussed. After the kick-off meeting, we will have two additional large group meetings featuring topics relevant to rainmaking and career development in May and June. Small group meetings with assigned mentors will also happen during this time. Topics will include networking, case selection, generating referrals, the value of extra-curricular commitments, marketing, business plans, finding a niche, and closing the deal with a client, to name a few.
LOCATION & LOGISTICS
The first meeting of the 2015 Rainmaking & Career Development Mentoring Circle will be held on Tuesday, April 21st from 12:00 – 1:30 pm at Marger, Johnson & McCollom (210 SW Morrison St., Suite 400, Portland, OR 97204). The entrance to Marger Johnson’s building (the Centennial Building) is on the south side of Morrison Street between 2nd Ave. and 3rd Ave., just west of Rock Bottom Brewery. Lunch will be provided.
REGISTRATION
There is no charge to participate. Please contact Karie Trujillo by Monday, April 13th to register. In your RSVP, please include a preference for your mentor, if you have one, and/or your primary practice area(s). This information will help us pair mentors and mentees. We cannot promise you will be paired with your preferred mentor, but we will do our best.
We look forward to having you join us!
