OWLS and friends are invited to strengthen their leadership skills and become inspired through this first of this year’s series of presentations which feature political leaders’ pathways to political leadership positions.We hope to inspire and support OWLS to political activity at every level, from neighborhood associations to state-wide office, while championing causes near to their hearts.
State Representative Jennifer Williamson, a 4th generation Oregonian, represents District 36 and was elected House Majority Leader in 2015.
In the Oregon Legislature, Jennifer serves on the House Judiciary Committee, the House Higher Education, Innovation and Workforce Development Committee, the Joint Committee on Ways and Means, and she is the Co-Chair of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on Public Safety.
After receiving her JD, cum laude, from Willamette University, Jennifer practiced with the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine in Portland. She also worked at Portland State University as the Assistant Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs and served on Superintendent Susan Castillo’s executive team at the Oregon Department of Education. She is currently a practicing attorney.
