Please join OWLS for our next free phone-in CLE hosted by our Membership Committee, entitled Parental Leave Policies in Oregon: For the Practitioner and Lawyer Parent. We are honored to have Andrea Paluso, Executive Director of Family Forward Oregon, and Heather Bowman, partner at Bodyfelt Mount, as our speakers. The presentation will touch on issues of interest to practitioners that are not experts in employment law, but occasionally come across these issues, including the Family Medical Leave Act, Oregon Family Leave Act, and efforts towards a statewide paid family leave policy in Oregon. We will also cover examples of law firm parental leave policies, law firm employer considerations, and issues of interest to the lawyer parent (women and men) such as what to expect, paid leave considerations, and recommendations for negotiating leave when your firm does not have a written policy. The presentation will be very informative whether you are a practitioner advising clients on these issues, or you are a lawyer parent. Application has been made for one Oregon MCLE general credit hour.
