In the first hour we will hear from an expert on national issues with a focus on the “independent state legislature theory” to be heard by the Supreme Court next term. In the second hour a local panel will talk about voting rights issues in Oregon: Oregon’s own redistricting challenges and a potential initiative for 2024, the effort this past legislative term to grant prisoners the right to vote in Oregon, and a ballot measure in Multnomah County this November that may give non-citizens the right to vote in local elections.
