Please join the OWLS Community Service Committee in gathering up your like-new/new books for Coffee Creek, Oregon’s only women’s correctional institution. The book drive enriches the collection of books available to the women incarcerated at Coffee Creek, as well as the libraries in Oregon’s other correctional facilities. Volunteers are needed for collection sites and our book sorting party, which is scheduled for Sunday June 2, at Gevurtz Menashe in downtown Portland.

Here are Coffee Creek’s donation guidelines:
- Book condition requirements:
- Be in like-new or new condition
- No personal information written in them
- Free of water damage
- Books cannot include pop-ups, maps or disks.
- Must be in original binding or professionally rebound.

- Restricted content – Please do not donate materials containing the following:
- Technical information – including computer program, systems programming, instruction on computer usage
- Survivalist guides
- Fighting or self-defense tactics guides
- Law Enforcement guides
- Sexually explicit materials
- Weapons information – including guides, instructions on building or smithing
- Specific requests
- Newer materials (published within the last two years)
- Complete series of popular fiction
- Any prisoner/incarcerated-specific legal books
