January 23, 2019: THE ETHICS OF LEGAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS) Mary Leonard Chapter and the State of Oregon Law Library welcome John Grant, founder ofThe Agile Attorney Network, to present on the ethics of project management in the legal profession.
While lawyers are typically concerned with managing “matters” or “cases,” those are just fancy words for what the rest of industry calls a “project.” Unfortunately, for most lawyers there is a universe of proven project management tools that we fail to utilize because of mis-matched nomenclature. In this talk, John Grant will discuss why the “front five” rules of ethics don’t just allow for the use of project management techniques, they demand it. He will then teach the fundamentals of both traditional and Agile project management, discuss how they relate to our ethical obligations, and leave you with concrete steps to implement them in your office for a more agile and ethical practice.
