187 High Street NE, 3rd fl, Salem
*CLE credit will be applied for
Come learn the in’s and out’s of expungement law. By the end of the CLE you will be able to successfully guide a client through the process.
We’re hoping you’ll volunteer at our expungement clinic to help members of the public fill out paperwork.
We will be holding a free expungement clinic on January 11, 2025, from 9:00-12:00.
Expunging a criminal record can be important for many reasons, including:
- Employment Expungement can help people find, keep, or get promoted at a job.
- Professional licenses Expungement can help people obtain professional licenses and avoid discrimination based on their conviction.
- Access to loans Expungement can help people get loans without higher interest rates or having their application denied.
- Housing Expungement can help people find housing because landlords and property management companies often run background checks.
- Peace of mind Expungement can help people feel more at ease knowing that their criminal history is no longer available to others.
- Personal satisfaction Expungement can help people feel a sense of relief and closure.
- Reputation Expungement can help people rebuild their reputation and move forward after a conviction.
- Public assistance Expungement can help people avoid “collateral consequences” of their conviction, such as punishments that continue after their sentence.
Expungement can also help reduce recidivism rates and improve mental and emotional well-being.
