Please join the Mary Leonard Chapter and Ron Silver at 12:00pm on July 16, 2024 at the State of Oregon Law Library. Ron Silver served as an Assistant United States Attorney for 33 years and has lectured about the history of the Civil Rights Movement for the Department of Justice, as well as many federal agencies and Bar Associations throughout Oregon and Washington.
This June marks the 60th Anniversary of the murder of three civil rights workers in Philadelphia, Mississippi at the start of Freedom Summer in 1964. It took 41 years to bring justice to the case. Join Ron Silver as he tells the story of the murders that shocked America and how Philadelphia finally held itself to account for its past.
When: Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The CLE is from 12:00 to 1:00pm, with an optional brown bag social from 1:00 – 1:30pm.
