On February 14, 2024, from 3-5 p.m., Judge Chanpone Sinlapasai and a team of judges at the Multnomah County Central Courthouse will generously volunteer their time to officiate free wedding ceremonies for couples from diverse background with socioeconomic hardships. The aim of this celebration is support access to justice and highlight the importance of ensuring all individuals, regardless of their socio-economic status or cultural heritage, have equal opportunities to participate in marriage ceremonies recognized and protected by the law.
This event is in collaboration with the Multnomah County Courthouse, Multnomah County and City Commissioners, community-based organizations, Oregon affinity bars, Oregon Women Lawyers, the Multnomah Bar Association and the Multnomah Bar Foundation.
Volunteers are needed to help with this event. Donations requested include bridal dresses, small gifts for the couples, and desserts for the event, as well as cash donations to help with the purchase of these items.
